We support vulnerable children and young people in Musina through learning, care, protection and practical support, working with families and our community to help children thrive.
From homework support and nutritious meals to mentorship and life skills, we help children build confidence, form positive relationships and take part in opportunities that support their development.
Musina Children’s Resource Centre is a community-based non-profit organisation serving vulnerable children and young people in Musina and surrounding communities. We provide a safe, supervised environment where children receive support with their education, emotional wellbeing and everyday needs.
Our work began through the efforts of local volunteers responding to children who needed care and protection. Today, we continue that commitment through structured programmes and close cooperation with families, schools, social workers and community partners.
We place children’s safety, dignity and individual needs at the centre of our work, helping them feel heard, valued and supported.
We work alongside caregivers, schools and community partners to strengthen the relationships and support systems that children depend on each day.
Children need support in different areas of their lives. Our programmes bring together educational assistance, emotional care, protection and practical help for children and their families.

Homework assistance, reading and numeracy activities help children strengthen their understanding, develop study habits and participate more confidently at school.

We promote children’s rights, identify safeguarding concerns and work with relevant services to connect children and families with appropriate protection and support.

Through mentorship, group activities and supportive conversations, we help children express themselves, build resilience and access specialised support when needed.

Practical activities help children develop communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills, build self-confidence and make informed decisions in their daily lives.

Caregiver workshops, school engagement and community outreach help families access guidance, strengthen relationships and respond to challenges affecting their children.

We provide nutritional support for children attending the centre, with our vegetable garden helping to supplement meals and support the centre’s food security.
A contribution of R10 to our Buy a Loaf campaign helps support nutritious meals for vulnerable children and the daily work of the centre. Each contribution is a financial donation towards children’s care and the continued running of our programmes.
Individuals, families and businesses can support the campaign by sponsoring one or more loaves. Together, these donations help keep food support and everyday care available to children who need them.
Our programmes reach children and young people aged 5 to 18 in Musina and surrounding communities. By bringing together learning support, protection, emotional care and family engagement, we respond to the needs of each child while strengthening the community around them.
